Begin the New Year with The Portland Dharma Center! We offer public teachings of Buddhist fundamentals five days a week. Topics include The Four Noble Truths, Who Am I?, What is My Nature?, How Do Things Work?, and Creating World Peace. Students and practitioners of all backgrounds and experience levels are welcome. Our teachers have the training and the teachings to help you increase your happiness and decrease your suffering for the benefit of all beings. We invite you to join us for a brand new year.

Sunday Buddha Path Practice

2:00 to 3:00 pm

On Sundays we do a group Preliminary Practice out of The Buddha Path. We provide texts, cushions, and tea. Everyone is welcome to stay afterwards for Q&A.

Creating Peace and Happiness in Your World

Venerable Acharya Lama Orgyen Zangpo is a monk and authorized lama in the Dzogchen Buddha Path lineage of Tibetan Buddhism. He has studied closely for many years with Tibetan meditation master H.E. Dzogchen Khenpo Choga Rinpoche and is a resident of the Dzogchen Retreat Center USA. Kunzang Lama is a knowledgeable an accomplished teacher who represents the teachings in an easy-going and understandable style for all levels of practitioners.

All materials are provided, including texts, chairs, cushions, and hot tea. Notebooks and pens are recommended for taking notes.

Devotion to Our Great Compassionate Mother Tara

In preparation for the Grand Blessing Ceremony of the 10,000 Offerings to the 21 Noble Taras this spring here in Portland, Venerable Acharya Lama Orgyen Zangpo, authorized lama in the Dzogchen Buddha Path lineage of Tibetan Buddhism, will lead us in prayers and mantra to the female Buddha Tara. Kunzang Lama is a knowledgeable an accomplished teacher who has lived at the Dzogchen Retreat Center and studied with H.E. Dzogchen Khenpo Choga Rinpoche for many years. All are welcome to participate in this special event.

Fundamentals of Buddhist View

Deepening Understanding of Buddhist View

Tim Ros continues his Thursday series of teachings which delve deeper into Buddhist view and philosophy. Teachings are given free of charge and donations are accepted to help maintain the Portland Dharma Center.

Thursday teachings are recommended for those with at least one year of beginning teachings or one seasonal retreat.

Tim Ros is a DSSP Director and authorized Dharma Teacher of the Buddha Path under the guidance of H.E. Dzogchen Khenpo Choga Rinpoche.


Dzogchen Shri Singha of Portland is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that operates solely through the generosity and support of sangha. We request a $5 donation for attending our weekly teachings to support the dharma center. The teachings are offered free of charge; no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
